Spanish College of Arms

1. Who are we?

The Spanish college of Arms is a private organisation devoted to the study of History, Heraldry, Nobility and Genealogy.

2. What are our aims?

Help people to find their ancestors and arms, and record arms for those people wishing to Register Arms in Spain and Italy.

We also can put you in touch with our solicitors, specialised in the conveyancing and reinstatement of noble titles in Europe. Research is our speciality, and we have the necessary legal knowledge and contacts to know when a Nobility Title or Feudal title becomes available.

Establishing Arms in Spain

Arms in the Kingdom of Spain are not granted by an heraldic authority anymore. The Spanish College of Arms assists individuals who wish to establish new arms in Spain by executing a notarial act, and registering the Coat of Arms in the appropriate registers.

The following people may apply:

-Spanish Nationals or permanent residents in Spain.

-People of Spanish ancestry.

-People living in the former realms and territories of the Spanish Crown.

-People from Portugal and the Italian regions of Sicily, Parma and Naples.

-People from any nation of the American Continent.

-People from the former Holy Roman Empire may apply on a case to case basis.

-People with significant ties to Spain may apply on a case to case basis.

Notes on Nobility Titles

There are many people who wish to acquire a nobility title, or even a feudal title. Titles may give you a sense of historical belonging, satisfy your vanity, or simply honor your ancestors, leave a beautiful inheritance to your descendants, or use it for business purposes.
We want to clarify what we do, and what we do not do, and also give people some useful hints, so they can understand much better what is a nobility title.
First, there is to distinguish clearly the difference between a feudal title and a nobility title. A feudal title is a form of property, and as such can be bought or sold. Feudal titles do not confer any nobility on their owners.  The possession of any form of property or incorporeal hereditaments does not give you nobility ad personam. It is true that in some cases Feudal Titles are prestigious, but they do not make you noble.
We do not work with English Feudal Titles, Scottish Baronies, Lordships of the Manor, or any sort of British Title. That market is saturated, and it is far too muddy, murky and unscrupulous for our taste.
We work exclusively with European Continental Titles. We work with the Real Thing.

The only ways of obtaining a true and genuine nobility title is:
-          By Royal Grant of an actual Reigning Monarch
-          By Royal Grant of a Pretendant to the Throne when his right of Fons Honorum is Legally Recognized by the Magistracy of the Country in which the title is originated. If a Prince or Pretendant to the Throne has not been recognized by the Decree or Ruling of a Court of Justice, simply forget about it.
-      By Firm Decree or Ruling issued by a Court of Justice. This is the most widely used option in Continental Europe, and it is the most unquestionable proof of ownership one can have. The possession of the title is confirmed by law, and a judge or judges will sign a Court Decree or Ruling declaring you the rightful and legal holder of the title.

We work with the last two options:
We can obtain a nobility title or a feudal title through these ways. The best option is to obtain the title through the firm decision of a Court of Justice. The question is very simple. What is the best proof of ownership? A statutory declaration of ownership, or the firm decision of a judge materialized in the decree or ruling of a court of Justice?
The service we provide is of a different quality. We are not providers of deceitful beautiful artwork on gold vellum, or fabulous letter patents with golden letters. We give the real thing to our customers. We work with solicitors, and the solicitors will restore, reinstate or claim the nobility titles in a Court of Justice for you. We know the procedure, and successful outcome is guaranteed. The beautiful thing is that the customers do not buy the titles. They just buy our services. The title is not conveyed to the customer through an act of sale, but through a Decree or Ruling issued by a Court of Justice and signed by judges. It is easy to appreciate the superior quality of this type of services.  Here, you are not buying a title, but using a legal procedure and a legal process of reinstatement in a tribunal. Recognition of a title through decision of a tribunal implies simple, straight, and unquestionable proof of ownership, legality and validity of the title. We do not work with "Titled Land", we do not offer "Statutory Declarations of Ownership", and we do not offer "beautiful diplomas".
If you write us identifying yourself properly, we will reply to you with a level of accuracy, professionalism and honesty that you will not see somewhere else.
We require our customers to state their names, address, and telephone number. Only then we can be sure of the seriousness and legitimacy of the enquiry. Then, at the customer’s convenience we will answer all queries.
If the customer has any reservation, we will encourage him to engage independent legal advice by consulting a solicitor of his own choosing.
Legal Representatives are prepared to travel worldwide to visit customers and arrange meetings in person. Also, you can book an appointment with us in our offices.
